Bitcoin Surge Beyond Short-Term Holder Metric Sparks Predictions of New BTC Price Highs

Bitcoin Rally Sparks Predictions for New Price Highs

Bitcoin Price Surpasses Short-Term Holder Metric

On September 19, Bitcoin’s price surged above $62,000, surpassing the short-term holder (STH) realized price. This metric calculates the average purchase price of Bitcoin by short-term investors (those holding for less than 155 days) and often acts as a support level during uptrends.

Importance of the STH Realized Price

According to CryptoQuant analyst Avocado_onchain, the STH realized price is a significant indicator for Bitcoin. It has historically acted as a critical support and resistance level, reflecting the average buy price of short-term holders. Over the last six months, Bitcoin struggled to stay above this level, which now stands at $61,953.

Market Sentiment and Price Movements

CryptoQuant’s data reveals that Bitcoin’s price hovered around $63,855 at the time of reporting, which is 1.4% above the STH realized price. Popular analysts like Ercan Sak and Coiner-Yadox believe that if Bitcoin maintains daily closings above this level, the market will continue to show positive sentiment. Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView data showed BTC trading at $63,576, supported by robust buying interest.

Key Support Levels

Data from IntoTheBlock’s In/Out of the Money Around Price (IOMAP) model indicates that the immediate support level is between $61,625 and $63,510. This range represents where approximately 421,820 BTC were bought by over 2.45 million addresses. Any attempts to lower the price may encounter strong buy-side pressure from these investors aiming to increase their profits.

Taker Buy Sell Ratio Indicates Bullish Sentiment

Additional data from CryptoQuant shows a spike in the Taker Buy Sell Ratio across centralized exchanges (CEXs). This ratio measures market sentiment and potential price movements. A ratio above one suggests more takers are buying than selling, indicating bullish sentiment. The chart shows a spike from 0.93 on September 14 to 1.052 on September 16, signaling strong buy-side pressure.

Implications for Bitcoin’s Future

The recent spike in the Taker Buy Sell Ratio suggests an increase in aggressive buying, potentially indicating more bullish momentum in the short term. Many investors are purchasing Bitcoin in anticipation of further price increases, reflecting a positive outlook for the cryptocurrency.
